This week, I bought and receive the Zentangle 14 Shades of Gray kit from Jenny Perruzzi’s Etsy shop. Sonya Yencer, CZT14 created the detailed shading instructions. I’ve watched Sonya’s shading technique in awe as she often shares her Zentangle tiles in various Zentangle-related Facebook groups. They’re incredible and intricate. Sonya is also the co-author of the book Pattern Play: A Zentangle Creativity Boost (a book I highly recommend!).
The kit includes four pages of instructions, a black micron pen, a tortillon, two erasers, a graphite pencil, and a tile. The instructions suggest starting to learn the technique with the tangle Jetties, which is an easy tangle with lots of possibilities for tangleations.
What do you think? Have you tried using the 14 shades of gray technique? Share links to your work!
