There are many Facebook groups related to Zentangle® and Zentangle®-inspired art. The following are groups anyone can join and take part in (there are others specifically for Certified Zentangle Teachers (CZTs)). Before you join, be sure to read the About section on the right-hand side of the group’s main page. You will find valuable information on how the group works, and what type of posting is permitted within the group. Each group runs a bit differently — please take a moment to read that section so you don’t end up having your content/posts deleted by the group administrator.
Have fun, be encouraging, enjoy each other’s Zentangle-related art.
This group is a forum to share your work-in-progress, Zentangle-inspired art, and doodles. You can also share tangles, interesting blogs, websites, and information on doodling or tangling. The goal is to share, motivate, admire, and be respectful. No selling or self promotion allowed here.
Artist Ben Kwok runs this public group to gather like-minded people who love to draw/doodle. Every Monday, Ben posts a new template for group members to tangle. Ben requests all posts are related to his templates; other posts may be deleted.
This group is for anyone committed to the art of Zentangle. It’s a place to recognize and encourage each member’s creativity. It’s a place for “zen; not banter.”
Are you committed to exploring art “created in tangled stacks in a safe and inspirational environment”? If so, join this group, but before posting, please review the File and Photo sections so you have a clear understanding of what’s considered a stacked tangle.
“Bring us back to the beginning, Zentangle® as it originated. The act of focusing on the stroke of our pen on paper to create patterns…patterns placed within a string evolving into beautiful little works of art. Artwork created with nothing more than a 3.5″ x 3.5” paper tile, pen and pencil…no color, no distraction.” Each Friday, an original tangle is posted for you to to work on.
The only requirement here is that you post tangles created on Bijou 2” x 2” tiles or other white paper 2” x 2”. All are welcome in this public group.
Here you’re free to play with your 10.5” square Opus tiles, or that sized piece of white paper. That’s the only requirement here. You can use any pens, markers, pencils, etc.
If color is your thing, join this group. This is for Zentangle-inspired art and you can use colors and other medium to complete your work. The only requirement is that you use tangles to complete your work.
Here’s a place to play with round Zendala tiles. You can use pens, pencils, markers, etc; use a string, or not; create an abstract or a ZIA. The only requirement is that you use a round 4-5/8” diameter tile or similar-sized paper that is tangled.
It’s back to the basics in this public group. Use the Zentangle Renaissance (tan) tiles. Use a black pen and graphite pencil. You can add shades of brown and red ink and white pencil or zenstone.
The only requirement here is that you tangle on a ATC-sized tile or paper. The administrators urge members to swap tiles with other members.
Just like the original Square One group and Renaissance group, you can only use a black tile, 3.5” x 3.5”. You can use a black pen, graphite pencil, white pen, white pencil, and a zenstone to create your tangle patterns and design.
Note: Rules in groups often change. I encourage you to check each group’s guidelines from time to time, especially if you’re not a daily visitor or participator in the group.
