Right after Labor Day, I had the good fortune of stumbling upon a Zentangle store (Acadia Laser Creations) in Southwest Harbor, Maine. The owner, Jenny, spent a lot of time with me and my sister talking about the art of Zentangle, and she gave us insight into the CZT training that founders Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts host several times a year in Providence, Rhode Island. (My sister, cousin, and I are going in October!)
Anyway, Jenny mentioned that she and a friend run a Facebook group called Square One: Purely Zentangle. Each week, they post a tangle pattern, and going back to pure basics—black pen, pencil, and 3.5 by 3.5 inch tile—members create a tangle using the weekly tangle. This week’s is Betweed, and here’s my rendition (my first entry in this group). I used Betweed, Corked, Paradox, and Tipple and String 123.
If you want to join the group, just ask to be a member. It’s a closed group. Hope to see your work posted there!
